Process
Analysis and Assessment
This phase allows for open discussion of our goals and provides an opportunity for our clients to contribute critical input.
• Recognize and acknowledge your expectations.
• Focus on understanding the architect’s design intent,
• Develop a comprehensive maintenance program that aligns our work with the original design esthetic and your desires.
• Analyze and Assess the current conditions to determine whether or not conditions will deliver the expected results.
Preliminary Considerations
Plant health is affected directly by the conditions in which the plants exist. We evaluate the existing conditions; their suitability for the plants within your garden and the goals of your maintenance program.
Soil: The medium, in which plants flower and grow, must be tested on a regular basis to ensure proper conditions for healthy plant growth. Soil Tests will quantify macro and micro nutrients, organic material, and measure pH and determine the appropriateness of soil structure for the existing plants. Florida soils are typically lean on nutrients and have to be amended regularly with good organic content.
Water: A critical element to the health of plants. The needs of plants can differ widely and weather does not always cooperate. This is why all landscape gardens should have supplemental irrigation systems. These systems need to be monitored to ensure proper coverage and that the correct quantity of water is applied while adhering to the water restrictions as dictated by law.
Light: Your plants need it in proper amounts. Consideration of a plant’s light and shade tolerances must be recognized and accommodated. Plants can be moved or tree canopies thinned in order to provide the right amount.
Maintenance:
Your gardener is the Single-Point-of-Contact responsible for all elements of outdoor-living maintenance and garden care. Your gardener will organize, schedule and execute all elements of the program, leveraging our extensive horticultural expertise to ensure results.
• We monitor the entire landscape and all the elements of the garden regularly. Problems that arise are dealt with quickly, thereby, minimizing loss and mitigating problems that could grow into significant issues. Constant monitoring means early detection and quick resolution.
• Over time elements of the designed landscape can deteriorate: Masonry, woodwork, electrical, drainage, irrigation, lighting, etc. We constantly monitor these and all elements making sure they are in the best possible condition.
• Monitoring, analysis and communication help us to be effective garden care professionals.
• Having trained expert gardeners working for you ensures beautiful gardens. Having organized experienced management ensures responsive care.
Evaluation:
We measure our effectiveness by the progress we make towards our management goals and your satisfaction.
• We photograph our efforts and document our actions in a Garden-Care Journal for each property.
• Baselines are noted, benchmarks established, actions recorded and progress documented.
• In consideration of the environment we use the most eco-friendly, means of pest control available, while never sacrificing results.
This scientific approach enables us to consistently understand what works and what doesn’t, allowing us to be certain that your gardens will thrive. |
